Nancy E. Catron, CCIM,
President of Catron Real Estate, Inc., Bowie,
Maryland, has over 19 years experience in commercial
real estate transactions. She opened her own brokerage
company in February 1993. This company, and her
specialty, has been in Shopping Center/Retail
leasing/sales. Prior to opening her own brokerage
company in 1993, she worked as a leasing agent
at the Eisner Company, Bethesda, Maryland (Bart
Eisner - broker), Julien J. Studley (Larry Walker
- broker), and Long & Foster Commercial, CollegePark,
Maryland. Clients over the years have included
McDonalds Corporation, Checkers double drive thru
restaurant franchisees, Bojangles franchisees,
Variety Wholesalers, Inc., The UPS Store/Mail
Boxes Etc. for locations in the state of Maryland,
District of Columbia, and northern Virginia; Circuit
City Stores, Inc., Rite Aid Corporation, Pearle
Vision, Inc.; John Hanson Life Insurance Company;
Allfirst Bank; Maryland Federal Savings Bank,
GFS Realty, Inc., Aaron Rents, and Loyola Federal
Savings Bank to name a few.
She currently represents landlords on existing
and new Shopping Centers - each ranging up to
200,000 square feet in the Maryland and Virginia
area (Nellis Corporation, Bronze Holdings, &
Kodiak Properties, for example). In addition,
she has done tenant representation in the Maryland,
DC, and the Virginia area for retailers such as
The UPS Store/Mail Boxes Etc., Long John Silvers,
McDonalds Corporation, Chi-Chi's, Sears Parts
America, Bojangles, Variety Wholesalers, Inc.,
Aaron Rents, Rite Aid, and Checkers Restaurants.
A new 110,000 square foot shopping center was
opened in 1999 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Within
6 months of the anchor store opening for business,
the inline space was 100% leased and only one
retail pad remained available. She also did a
new development project in Accokeek, Maryland,
which opened in late 1998. She also does land
assemblages for users and developers.
Ms. Catron is a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment
Member ) and is an active member of International
Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC); a member of
National Association of Realtors; Maryland Association
of Realtors; Prince George's Association of Realtors;
Woman In Retail Real Esate (WIRRE), and a member
of the Maryland/DC Chapter of CCIM. She served
as ICSC state retail chair for Maryland, DC, northern
Virginia from 2000 thru May 2003 and also did
so from 1996 -1998; as co-chair for the MidAtlantic
Idea Exchange (1800 people in attendance) for
the meetings in 2001/2002; as chair and co-chair
on numerous committees for the Mid-Atlantic ICSC
Idea Exchange; on the executive board of WIRRE;
on the legislative and commercial committees for
the Prince George's Association of Realtors; on
the Prince George's Economic Development Corporation
Retail Committee as well as other committee/board
assignments. She is listed in the 1999-2000 edition
of International Who's Who Entrepreneurs.
She was just appointed as ICSC Eastern Division
Retail Co-Chair in May, 2003.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in business
administration from Albright College, Reading,
Pennsylvania. Her CCIM designation was earned
from CIREC in 1989. She has attended numerous
continuing education and real estate related classes
over the years.
